Full Details

Anchored by the magnificent Rideau River and bordered by the spectacular Claudette Cain Park, the sprawling 3,400 acres of Riverside South consists of boundless nature trails, full-service parks, ravines, and immaculate green spaces.
Like the serene, eternal flow of the river, Riverside South will sweep you away with its beautiful grand plan. One of the largest, most illustrious communities ever undertaken in the history of Ottawa continues to dramatically unfold, a mere 10 minutes away from the city centre.

Riverside South is a suburban community just south of the city and only minutes from the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport.  The steadily growing population is now estimated at approximately 6800. In the early 1990’s the area was mostly vacant with a few houses and some farms. However, over the last few years there has been an extensive southbound housing boom that seems to be growing at the pace of other major communities on the outskirts of the city. Future plans for the area include a bridge linking the community to another thriving suburban neighbourhood across the Rideau River, known as Barrhaven. The two areas combined are expected to become a major community, with a population that may reach over 100,000 residents.

This unique and ideal community boasts masterfully crafted homes of impeccable quality, style, and elegance. The existing amenities and the readied plans of Riverside South encompass every existing service and facility any comminity can muster.  An extensive variety of schools, shopping plazas, parks, community centres,  medical and dental clinics, sports and recreation facilities, restaurants, cafes and waterfront. Hospitals are close by and the community is fully serviced by OC Transpo. There are a number of public and private golf courses only minutes away, as well equestrian centres.  A few minutes south of the community is the village of Manotick which offers a public pool, curling club, library,  boat launching and marina facilities.

The parks and green-spaces in the Riverside South area are linked through various water pathways to the Rideau River, and fall within the watershed area under the jurisdiction of the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.  The area abounds with parks, some of the most notable are Claudette Cain Park, located on the Rideau directly across from the community and accessible via a signalized pedestrian crossing.  The park contains a soccer field, many walking trails, numerous play structures and provides easy access to the Rideau River.  Another popular park is Four Seasons Park, and besides its play structures, baseball diamond, toboggan hill and skating rink also has a water spray area very popular with the youngsters, and a paved skateboard  facility.

Riverside South is an extraordinary place to live, grow and play. You’ll be inspired by the sparkling sense of sharing, involvement, and community spirit.
